Nadja Petrick (voc, git, harp)
One of the most exciting voices in the German music business comes
from Berlin. It belongs to Nadja Petrick, the singer-songwriter
who recently left a dominant impression on the "Sirens of Berlin"
folksampler with her unique country-waltz "Too much liquor".
Nadja wrote her first song when she was 12, now her repertoire includes
more than 300 self-written titles.
After her Polygram album "April Fool" for which she was
invited to Peter Gabriel's Real World studio, touring Germany as
a support act with "Roger Chapman's Short List" and a
solo appearance at the prestigious South by Southwest festival in
Austin, Texas, she produced her latest CD "The Night With You"
all on her own: an intimate love song album with 17 new originals:
folk songs, blues, country songs and ballads in her own trademark
vocal style.
All songs are "earcatchers", stirring and timeless. Already
after the first run-through, they sound like familiar "classics"
to you.
If you don´t believe it: go listen and see for yourself!
Casually dressed in jeans and waistcoat, with tousled hair, Nadja
looks like she´s just jumped off an old railway waggon, gracefully
built, but blessed with a voice that sounds even dustier than the
Great Plains.
Playing solo and together with her band "The Wildflowers"
Nadja is surely one of the most impressing and unique artists of
Berlin´s interesting singer-songwriter scene, her new album
might be a milestone on her road to international breakthrough.
